Today let’s talk about the social media life of a destination wedding photographer – you know, the one filled with exciting travel, luxurious hotels, and picture-perfect moments. It all looks amazing, right? But, here’s the thing: there’s a lot going on behind those carefully curated posts that you might not see. So, before you dive headfirst into the world of destination wedding photographers, there are a few things you should consider. Are you ready for this life? Well, let me ask you a few questions.

1. Organisation is Key

Trust me, one small mistake can lead to some serious consequences when you’re constantly on the move. That’s why being super mega organised isn’t just a suggestion; it’s an absolute necessity. From booking hotels and flights to sorting out visas, there’s no room for error. You’ve got to anticipate every possible scenario and not take any risks. And, let me tell you, if you forget something, you can’t just pop back home to grab it. So, make sure you’ve got a comprehensive to-do list that includes all the essentials, like international adapters, plugs, and cables.

2. Hidden Fees

You know that price you see? Well, it’s not always the price you pay. When you’re traveling constantly, those hidden fees can seriously eat into your budget. Whether it’s the cost of taxis, restaurant, accomodations, or unexpected visa fees, you’ve got to budget for those additional expenses. Trust me, it’s essential. For me, I include it on quotes for my client.

3. What We Don’t Share on Instagram

Okay, let’s get real for a minute. While social media may showcase the highlight reel of our lives, there’s plenty that doesn’t make the cut. Behind all those exciting posts, there are moments we choose not to share:

• Unexpected Hotels: Yep, not every hotel lives up to those exciting images you see online. Sometimes, you end up in less-than-ideal accommodations. Or sometimes even if you’ve booked before, there is no reservation..

• Messy Moments: Travel isn’t always exciting. There are moments when you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by chaos and mess.

• Post-Wedding Realities: Ever wondered what we look like after attending a wedding, surviving on three hours of sleep, and catching an early morning flight back home? Spoiler alert: it’s not pretty.

• All the things we forget all over the world :All the things we forget all over the world : At the beginning I used to packed everything, but I choosed to make my life easier so I bought everything in double or triple like toothbrush, sweat-shirt etc…to have everything everywhere
