THE 11 DRESSES CHALLENGE SHOOT | Habtoor Palace- Dubaï

Hi everyone! My name is Maddy, and I’m a photographer in Dubaï!

Yes, we did it! What a challenge, what an adventure, but after many twists and turns, the day of the shoot, we counted 11 dresses on the troller going to the room. Before this shoot to become a challenge, it was another one for me, as a French photographer in Dubaï, to shoot in the incredible venue I love so much.

I think I discover the Habtoor Palace years ago, and I immediately felt in love with the “French side” of it. The iconic stairs, the “moulures” everywhere, the huge chandelier in the center, as a masterpiece telling you you’re home. Of course, you find many French Touch everywhere, and I have so happy to find something that elegant here.

Then, the Covid and my travels between France and Dubaï make the time flying, but I always kept the idea in mind to do something special here.

This summer was completely crazy, but in the flight going to Dubaï this August, I sent a message to Gregory, the person in charge of the events, saying “Are you busy lately? What if we do our shoot now?”. And the answer was “Let’s do it!”. I just realized at this moment, the crazy thing I’ve just done… I was in Dubai only for 2 weeks, meaning that I had one week to organize everything…

Passing the details, it was actually pretty ok, as I had already everything ready in my mind. Once we found the designers for the dresses, the models, the rest of the team was obvious. Sonia Abad for the make-up and Hair, GranVilleRoad for the video and my dear Jean to assist me during the day. I absolutely didnt have in mind to ask my friend EvensByMod to participate as a floral designer. But when I met him, maybe 3 days before this day, just to take a coffee, I talked to him about this shoot, explaining that for me, it was too short to ask him anything. And that is why I love this guy so much, for the “What? Are you crazy?! A project together? In 2 days? Let’s do it!”

Then the day before the shoot, or should I say, the NIGHT before the shoot, the entire team was working from 1am to 4am to install everything to don’t disturb the guests of the hotel.

The morning of the shoot, the schedule was ready, the flowers on place, and me almost crying, seing all these incredible people together, just for an idea I had in mind one week before.

It was a marathon, with 11 looks and sets, but we did it. Because when you have the best team ever, everything is possible!
