Most service-based businesses are built around one offer, maybe two, and they spend enormous energy trying to convince everyone to fit into that box. When someone does not fit, they either lose the client or bend their offer in ways that cost them more than the revenue is worth. There is another way, and it has existed in marketing for a long time. It is called the three levels of client engagement, and when applied with intention, it completely changes the way you think about your offer architecture.
Before we dive in, one important clarification: this is not a universal model. There are brilliant entrepreneurs who have built extraordinary businesses with a single offer and zero intention of changing that. So do not read this as a rule. Read it as a framework worth considering, one that works particularly well when you want to make your expertise accessible to different profiles of clients, at different stages of their journey, without compromising the value of what you do.
The first level is about giving your client everything they need to move forward independently. You package your knowledge, your frameworks, your process into a resource they can access and work through at their own pace, without you being present.
At CocoSpark, this is the CocoSpark Method, our online course with close to ten hours of content, detailed workbooks, and access to a group community. Everything someone needs to understand luxury positioning, premium pricing, and high-end client psychology, structured so they can implement it on their own.
In your business, this could be a course, a guide, a self-paced program, or a resource library. The format matters less than the intention: making your expertise accessible to someone motivated enough to use it without hand-holding.
Who is this for? The Do It Yourself client is self-directed, disciplined, and comfortable learning independently. They are often earlier in their journey or working with a tighter budget at this specific moment, not because they lack ambition, but because they are being smart about where they invest right now. They do not need someone next to them to move forward. They just need the right tools.
The second level is where your expertise and your presence both become part of what the client is paying for. You are not handing them a resource and stepping back. You are genuinely in it with them, following their progress, providing feedback, and helping them course correct in real time.
At CocoSpark, this is the CocoSpark Mastery, our mentoring program. Clients get dedicated mentoring hours, direct access via WhatsApp throughout their program, and a real dynamic where someone is paying attention to where they are, what they are building, and what is blocking them.
This level applies far beyond mentoring and consulting. In almost any service-based industry, there is a version of your work where being more present and more in dialogue with your client throughout the process creates a meaningfully better result. The question worth asking is: what would change for your clients if they had access to you regularly, if they could check in, get feedback, and adjust in real time instead of figuring everything out after the fact?
Who is this for? The We Do It Together client has already decided to invest seriously. They know that information alone is not what they are missing. What they are missing is perspective, accountability, and someone who can look at their situation from the outside with honesty. They tend to have more financial capacity than the Do It Yourself client, and they value the supported path over the cheapest one. Interestingly, the best clients at this level are not people who need to be pushed, they are already motivated and capable, they simply want a thinking partner who has been where they are going.
The third level is full delegation. The client is not learning, and they are not collaborating. They are handing over the wheel entirely and trusting you to drive.
At CocoSpark, this is our agency. Depending on what clients need, that can include social media management, press relations strategy, branding and design, content creation with our team traveling on location, virtual assistant services, or AI-powered design. The scope varies, but the principle is always the same: they focus on the core of their business, and we handle everything around it.
This level exists in virtually every industry. It is the interior designer who sources everything and hands you back a finished space. It is the photographer who finds the location, books the entire creative team, and delivers a complete production. It is the marketing team that does not teach you how to run campaigns but simply runs them.
One of the most interesting things about this level is that it often emerges naturally rather than being planned from the start. At CocoSpark, we noticed that some of the entrepreneurs we were working with in mentoring genuinely hated creating content. Not because they did not understand its importance, but because execution was the wall they kept hitting. At some point, instead of pushing them through that wall, we simply removed it and started creating content for them. That one reframe opened an entirely new level of service. The We Do It For You offer is rarely invented from scratch. It is discovered by paying close attention to where your clients are stuck.
Who is this for? Budget is a factor, since this is naturally the most expensive level. But for the client who chooses it, budget is rarely the main driver. What drives them is time. These are people running at full capacity who cannot afford to add one more thing to their plate, even if that thing would genuinely benefit them. They also tend to be high-achieving personalities who are used to being in control, which means part of your job is not just delivering excellent work but creating a process structured and transparent enough that they can truly let go without anxiety.
You do not need to build all three levels at once. But it is worth asking yourself a few questions.
Do you have knowledge that could be packaged into a standalone resource someone could use independently? That is your Do It Yourself level. Is there a version of your work where your ongoing presence alongside the deliverable would create a meaningfully better result for your client? That is your We Do It Together level. And where do your clients keep getting stuck after working with you? Where is the gap between what they understand and what they actually execute? That gap is very often your We Do It For You level, and the clients who need it are probably already right in front of you.
The goal is not to have three offers for the sake of it. The goal is to be relevant at every stage of your client’s journey, so that the right person always has the right door to walk through.
