My dear #maddybrides,
After 12 years as wedding photographer, I can tell you that I’ve seen almost everything (and you can still surprise me!) in the best and the worst. Our journey with you is an adventure, and even if, as professionals, we’ll always do our best, there are many ways to make our life easier, which means increasing your chance to have amazing pictures!
**1. No Photog Clash: Picture this: two (or more!) photography teams, both alike in dignity, vying for the best shots. But alas, chaos reigns. At the ends of the day, none of them have the pictures they wanted, they are frustrated of not having been able to give the best of their talent, you as a bride won’t have some iconic shots you had dreamt about, and they had to fight simply to do their job. Please, please PLEASE, stick to one team and avoid the comedy of errors that can arise from multiple photographers from different companies trying to capture your fabulousness.
**2. “Details” Early Birds: Remember, photographers are like magicians – they can turn even the smallest details into stunning art. So, prep your shoes, jewels, accessories, and other wedding paraphernalia in advance. You’ll have them spellbound!
**3. Schedule Shenanigans: Providing your photographer with a schedule is like giving them a treasure map to your perfect shots. But remember, time flies faster than confetti in the wind, so ensure your schedule is as reliable as your uncle’s dance moves.
**4. Point Person Prodigy: Designate a photography wizard, a.k.a. your go-to person. They’ll be your photographer’s sidekick, rounding up lost aunts for group photos and thwarting any cake catastrophes. The photographer’s cape might be invisible, but this helper is the real MVP.
**5. Let There Be Light: As you may know, light is absolutely EVERYTHING for a photographer, specially for an indoor wedding with artificial light. Just have a word with the person in charge of the light that everything will have to be double checked with the photographer on the big day for them to approve and for you to have the best pictures ever (and actually for them too!).
**6. The Candid Conspiracy: Want those genuine belly laughs and teary-eyed moments on film? Be yourself and let the laughter flow. Don’t be surprised if your photographer’s camera starts giggling too – it’s contagious, you know.
**7. Crazy About Creativity: Give your photographer the freedom to capture some artistic shots. We are like magicians, only without the wand. Let them sprinkle some creativity on your day to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.
**8.Organize the group shots: With the help of the designated person, this chaotic moment can be an incredible memory. As long as we don’t wait 30 minutes for your auntie to come and uncle to get ready, we’re good!
**9. Munchies and Mirth: A fed photographer is a happy photographer. Keep their energy up by making sure they’re well-fed and hydrated. Because, let’s face it, a hangry photographer is a photo-less photographer.
**10. Snap and Smiles: Channel your inner fashion model or action star – the camera loves it when you’re having fun! Relax, enjoy the moment, and let the photographer capture your real, radiant self.
My dear brides, remember, a happy photographer means stunning photos that capture the joy and laughter of your wedding day. So, keep the laughs coming, and let them do their magic. Your wedding album will be filled with snapshots of your love story, sprinkled with the laughter and smiles that make life extraordinary!
Love you!
